The Acme Road Machinery Company, founded in 1900, was a manufacturer of a wide line of construction equipment and supplies. As of May 1903, and apparently as late as 1909, the company was also an agent for the Port Huron Engine & Thresher Company. There was also a relationship between Acme and J. D. Adams & Company, as some Adams sales literature includes Acme products. As of 1927, it was headquartered in Frankfort, New York, with factories there and at Salem, New York, and an office and warehouse in Cambridge, Massachusetts and export office in New York City.[1]
