Atlas Conveyor Company

The Atlas Conveyor Company was preceeded by the Atlas Engineering Company, which was founded by Clarence W. Zachow and others.
Zachow’s father, Otto Zachow, is credited as having invented the four-wheel drive principle. Sales literature believed to date to the 1920s describes a four-wheel drive and four-wheel-steer wheel tractor. Atlas Engineering was succeeded by Atlas Conveyor Company by 1940. Both firms were based in Clintonville, Wisconsin.
