Carat

From RitchieWiki

Related Categories: Definitions

A carat, abbreviated as "ct," refers to the actual weight of a diamond. As a metric measurement, a carat is equivalent to slightly more than seven thousandths (0.007) of an ounce.[1]Therefore, under very specific industry guidelines, a diamond's value is measured entirely by its weight in carats.
