The Caterpillar 14D motor grader was introduced in 1961 as a replacement for the Caterpillar 14C.

The 14D has a D333 turbocharged, six-cylinder engine producing 150 flywheel horsepower (FWHP). It comes standard with a 13-foot (3.9 m) blade, high-speed reverse transmission, modified circle and drawbar. It also has a longer main frame than the Cat 14C.

The 14D was given a 96F serial number prefix.

Production of 14D ended in 1965; it was replaced by the Caterpillar 14E.

Based on data from the sales database of Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, it is estimated that more than 2,000 Caterpillar 14D motor graders have been produced.
