Caterpillar 225 Hydraulic Excavator
The 225 has two different engine configurations: the American units have a Cat 3208 engine while the Belgian and Brazilian units have a Cat 3304 turbo engine. Both configurations produce 125 flywheel horsepower (FWHP). It comes standard with a variable flow hydraulic system.
The 225 was manufactured in the USA, with a 51U or 61X serial number prefix; in Belgium, with a 76U prefix; and in Brazil, with a 20S prefix.
In 1976 a track guiding guard was made standard, beginning with 76U00821. The engine speed was increased to 2,000 revolutions per minute, beginning with 76U00880.
Production of 20S ended in 1977.
