Caterpillar 416D Loader Backhoe
The 416D has a 3054 emissions certified engine producing 75 or 80 horsepower (HP). It comes standard with a 14-foot (4.3-m) center-pivot with high rotation linkage and single tilt front.
The 416D was manufactured in the USA, with a BFP serial number prefix; in England, with a BGJ prefix; and in Brazil, with a B2D or BKG prefix.
American and English units have pilot stabilizer controls and a hydraulic pump that delivers fluid at a rate of 35 gallons (132 L) per minute (GPM) at a system pressure of 3,000 pounds per square inch (PSI) (20,684 kPa).
In 2004 Caterpillar introduced 416D Series II, which included redesigning the front axle and other features to reduce costs, beginning with BGJ01051.
Production of BGJ ended in 2005.
The Caterpillar 416D was replaced by the Caterpillar 416E.
Based on data from the sales database of Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, it is estimated that more than 7,000 Caterpillar 416D loader backhoes have been produced.
