The Caterpillar 933C crawler loader was introduced in 1996. It was manufactured in Japan only.

The 933C has a 3046 engine producing 70 flywheel horsepower (FWHP). It comes standard with a hydrostatic transmission and a 1.3 cubic yard (1 m³) bucket.

It is available in two configurations: the standard model has a track gauge of 57 inches (145 cm) the Low Ground Pressure (LGP) configuration has a 66-inch (168-cm) track gauge.

Standard configuration crawler loaders have a 4MS serial number prefix.

LGP configuration crawler loaders have a 5JS prefix.

In 1998 Caterpillar added joystick hold control, beginning with 4MS00376 and 5JS00345.

Production of 933C ended in 2002.

Based on data from the sales database of Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, it is estimated that more than 800 Caterpillar 933C crawler loaders have been produced.
