An electric motor is a type of motor that coverts electrical energy into mechanical energy. An electric motor uses rotating coils of wire that are driven by a magnetic force exerted by a magnetic field on an electrical current. The attracting and repelling forces of the magnets produce the rotational motion of the motor.
