[edit] History
Morbark was founded in 1957 when a Michigan, USA, sawmill operator named Norval Morey designed a portable pulp wood debarker. Since that time Morbark has grown from a simple blacksmith shop with two employees to a manufacturing facility of 1.5 million square feet and more than 500 employees.[1]
Morbark serves a variety of industries and applications involving wood and organic materials, including forestry, sawmills, tree care, and recycling. Its product line includes hand fed chippers, self-feeding whole tree chippers, tub and horizontal grinders, debarkers, sawmill equipment, and application specific attachments. Its equipment is available as tracked or electric powered machines, or as tow-able attachments.
Morbark's equipment is designed to convert wood and wood waste materials into saleable products, as well as reducing the volume of materials to save space in landfills and reducing transportation costs.
