Kind Attn: The President

Good day to you!!!

We are having underground coal mines at Raigarh, India and are producing one million tons of coal per annum from that mines. We would like to go for further enhancement of production by atleast 1000 MT/day. It is requested to search for second hand continuous miner alongwith accessories such as Shuttle Car, Bolters, etc. for our underground coal mining at Raigarh at the earliest.

I remain at your disposal for any further assistance.

Thanks & Regards,

Dinesh Arora (Managing Director)

Dear Sir,

There are different mines in Singareni Collieries Company Limited, Andhrapradesh, India, with potential for Pillar extraction with Continuous Miner Technology; we are trying to collect some information in this regard to firm up the decision on selection of equipment. Can you provide some information on the following issues:

1. In a geo-mining condition with seam thickness of 6-7m and seam gradient 1 in 5 or steeper – suitability of Continuous Miner - Shuttle car/ LHD option ??

2. If development is done along the apparent dip

             a. In any case, the CM or Shuttle car will be exposed to true dip at some point while crossing the gallery junctions – How will such problem be addressed?

            b. What will be role of transverse gradient while development & extraction of pillars in steep gradient seams?

3. What are the different methods of pillar extraction being practiced in India/ elsewhere in the world for pillar extraction by Continuous in similar condition?

4. Is there any case studies / publications available for any mine with similar geo-mining condition? Any how, we require high productive cutting and conveying equipment to work steeper than 1 in 5 (11 degrees).

Your comments on addressing the above issues are solicited.
