Materials

Carbide is a compound of carbon that is often formed in steel to help improve its properties. Rotary percussive drills have carbide tungsten coated onto them to increase the strength of the steel, a feature that is necessary with the constant penetration of the drill bit with hard materials such as rock and concrete.
