(Redirected from falling object protection system)
A falling object protective structure (FOPS), also known as a falling object protection system, is used to protect equipment operators when there is a risk of falling debris. FOPS can be applied in a number of fashions depending on the nature of the equipment. Common components used include protective canopies, roll cages, and wire mesh.[1]
FOPS are commonly found on forklifts, tractors, utility vehicles, trucks, mowers, and loaders.
